The simplest way is by e-mail to burnsma@auburn.edu. During regular semesters, I can usually return an e-mail message within 48 hours (holiday periods excluded).
However, if you are a student in a course I'm teaching this semester and have a concern regarding the class, the preferable way to contact me is an e-mail through our class Canvas site. Same return policies apply as above.
If you'd prefer to see me in person:
My office hours for Spring 2012 are listed below. Office hours of all types will begin on Wednesday, January 18, and will end after Wednesday April 25.
After April
25, please contact me by e-mail at burnsma@auburn.edu.
During the time set aside for appointments, if no one has made an appointment
for a particular day, I may not be there during that time. "Drop ins" may find
I'm not there to be dropped in on, or may not be able to see them for very long.
If you need to see me in person and absolutely cannot make any of my
office hours because of work or class, catch me after class or contact me by
e-mail and we'll schedule a mutually convenient meeting. You can also e-mail
me or leave notes in my box in 7080 Haley Center; be sure to include your phone
number and/or e-mail address. Also, students in my classes can take advantage of class-related advising
via private Canvas chat Spring 2012 Thursdays
8-9 p.m. If you are in one of my classes this semester, access the class's Blackboard
site at that time and use the private chat for the class.

Sign up for appointments by first checking for open "slots" on my
separate appointment page. Then e-mail me
your request for an appointment. This should be done at least 24 hours in
advance.
