  • Conducted Management Training Seminars for Japanese Companies:
    • Two courses on Understanding U.S. Legal Requirements (1992-3)
    • One course on High Performance Manufacturing Practices (1992)
  • Submitted grant proposals to the National Science Foundation for establishing a Flexible Assembly and Manufacturing of Electronics Center with curriculum to teach courses about Japanese management at Auburn University.
  • Established Academic Exchange Program between the College of Business and Nihon University's College of Economics. First joint research project and seminar held at Auburn on July 27, 1993. The second seminar is planned for November 1994, at Nihon University in Japan.
  • Developed intensive English language training program for Japanese students with the initial program held in the summer, 1993.
  • Working with the Manager, President's Medal of Technology, to develop national strategy for the medal.
  • Member of the Selection Committee for the Fulbright Grant Competition in Japan in 1992, 1993, and 1994.
  • Member, Presidents Committee on Total Quality Management, Auburn University.
  • Member, Joint Curriculum Development Task Force, National Consortium for Technology in Business. Member of selection committee for technology case competition to distribute $200,000 in ten case development awards.
