The main purpose of this page is to supply a practice sheet for participants in the seminar "Finding Information on the Internet/Journalism" However, please feel free to use it as you find helpful.
A Collection of URLs
General
- Bill Arnett's Astronomy Catalog Contains good examples of hypertext, sound files, images, videos. Interesting stuff.
- The Doonesbury Town Hall The political cartoon, including "flashbacks to earlier years, straw polls etc.
- Amistad Research Center at Tulane: AfroAmerican and ethnic history and culture.
- The Web Museum Network A number of Museums have online exhibitions.
- Digital Tradition Folk Song Base Xerox PARC. Lots of fun. If you have a sound card (or a Mac) you can hear the melodies of most of these songs. WARNING: Not too surprisingly, the lyrics to a collect
ion of over 4000 folk songs vary from innocent to obscene.

within the Center for Advanced Instructional Media's (C/AIM) World
Wide Web site. This is not an introduction to HTML authoring. . . ." Fills a big hole in Web page development.

Different search tools collect information in different ways, so it's often worth submitting your search to several. The responses will probably overlap partially, but not completely.
