Centrioles (cross-sections) or basal bodies. Note that each contains “9 triplets” of microtubules. Centrioles (usually in pairs) are located near the nucleus. Basal bodies are located at the base of a cilium or flagellum. Recall that these microtubules are made of tubulin.
